For human beings, there are four good and four bad circumstances in life, as taught by Buddha. They are –
1. Labha = Acquiring wealth, requisites, etc.,
2. Alabha = Not acquiring wealth, requisites, etc.,
3. Yasa = Having followers,
4. Ayasa = Not having followers,
5. Pasamsa =Being praised,
6. Ninda = Being blamed,
7. Sukkha = Happiness,
8. Dukkha = Suffering
Some can resist four bad circumstances but not the good four because they became elated and proud. Some can stay calm and don’t get proud when having good four things, but depressed when facing four bad circumstances. Some cannot resist anything ups and downs of life at all.
To overcome the states, we need to have the steadfast mind. There is Myanmar saying, “People blame you for seven days and praise you 7 days”. It means it is just a circumstance. Even if we cannot resist it for a few days, there is no where for us to live in life. We need to keep calm in any kind of condition of it.
Some people became a toy of other people to play in the way they like because he or she cannot resist the ups and downs of life and lived in the harmony of them whether liking it or not.
Don’t react in bad way in any kind of conditions or you would get the worse. Seeing in positive way, having steadfast mind and react in peaceful way would only make your life better and better. Keep calm and stay mindfulness and be wisdom.
