There are many people in Myanmar losing career. Most are young people under 25. They don’t know where they are good at and don’t know what they want to. As had to generate income, they do whatever they can. They apply for any position in any company. They work in sale and marketing, IT, accounting and so on. Some tend to happy on what they are
doing, but some don’t like what they do. So they resigned the job and lost career. Then they joined other job but again lost career until they found the right career for them. Now I would like to share you how to develop a career.
1. Learn from environment
Learn from environment mean you to go around the city, to attend many events on business, technology, career, education and so on. You need to read lots of news and articles from local and global side. Then you need to analyst what the local need and global need. For example, you still cannot see that Myanmar need a spaceship pilot. To develop a career, you need to check situation of the market region.
2. Learn from seniors
Seniors mean everyone who is higher than you in position, earlier than you in working field. If you are a student you can ask your teacher. You can ask what they are doing, what are their responsible, how they feel for their career, how much they can generate if they don’t mind. If you found something good, you can keep on going on it. But one thing I must suggest you is not only thinking about money. Even if your seniors are getting much money, you should not follow the path that you don’t like.
Sometimes, we need to relax to know exactly what we want to do in life. It’s very important because you will have to sacrifice eight hours per day for it. You need to relax to think of what you want. You can go for a trip. You can have fun with friends. But don’t take more than 1 month for it. I believe you may find something out after relaxing.
4. Start a trial period
After you chose a career, you can start running on it as a trail. You don’t need to think that you have to do it forever. You can still regard it as a trail period. You can take 3 months to know if you are good at it or not. But don’t drop the career by only one reason that you are tired. In that condition, you are not losing career, you are just boring to work. There is no cure for it. You need to motivate yourself. You need to be patience also sometime. Don’t also drop a career easily by seeing that you cannot generate more income. You can try getting money by other ways such as working as a freelancer. But if you found that you don’t like the career after three months, you can drop it and start over from learning environment.
But don’t start over again and again this step. Time is changing. While you are trying develop a career, others will be very successful at the time and you may get problems in your life to starve.
