Last Saturday, I attended second anniversary of Myanmar B2B Management Magazine. Doctor Aung Tun Thet talked about entrepreneurship. There he said that it is difficult to translate the meaning entrepreneur to Myanmar. The word ‘entrepreneur’ also came from French language.
Myanmar people are translating it into a word ‘Sunt Oo Ti Htwin Thu’. The meaning in Myanmar is ‘innovator’. it means no more than ‘innovation’. So Aung Tun Thet introduced a word ‘Sun Htwin Oo See’, which is really the same with English words ‘entrepreneur’. So you may want to know why we call someone entrepreneur. There are three behavior of an entrepreneur
– They take the risk
Entrepreneur always take the risk when other are not doing it. In business, if we are not taking any risk, any big success would not come for us. entrepreneurs always take risk in their business and career.
– They innovate
Not only taking risk, entrepreneurs also innovate. They create something that people don’t have. They create a new trend, a new service or product that other don’t have and does. If you are copying others and do the same business with others. It is not innovation. Innovation is creating new things.
– They lead
Entrepreneurs are leaders. They always lead their business and their society. Leading is not as easy as we know. They have to scrafie. They always think for people and their followers. They don’t do it for their personal fame. Entrepreneurs lead the country and the world.
When someone have three characteristics, taking risk, innovative and leadership, he or she is an entrepreneur. Be an entrepreneur. Be different and make a difference.
