In 2013 UNIDO has lunched the preparatory phase of the project titled “Fostering pro-poor and inclusive MSME development in Myanmar” with funding from the Government of Italy and in close collaboration with the Ministry of Industry, the Ministry of Cooperatives.
After successfully concluded the preparatory phase, in January 2015 UNIDO has commenced implementing the “Fostering pro-poor and inclusive MSME development in Myanmar” project; based on the findings of the preparatory phase and the renewed interest of the Government of Italy in assisting the development interventions in Myanmar, the project now focuses on two main outcomes: creating an conducive environments for MSEMs development through the formulation of MSME and cluster development (Outcome 1); youth-led enterprise creation and development and growth (Outcome 2).
At this stage of the implementation of the project, UNIDO is forging partnership and strengthen collaboration with national, regional and local counterparts, while harmonizing its interventions and creating synergies with other project in the field of youth employment and entrepreneurship.
UNIDO invite people from CSO, small business and entrepreneurship background to attend the launching ceremony and workshop of the project entitled “Fostering Pro-poor and Inclusive MSME Development in Myanmar Phase-1” on 15th May 2015 at Novotel Hotel in Yangon. The event is organized in collaboration with the Central Department of SME Development, Ministry of Industry.
