The organization Plan W is welcoming Myanmar women to participate in the competition for Women’s Empowerment Journalism Awards 2015. Submissions and nominations for the WE Journalism Awards 2015 are now open.
Plan W launched its Women’s Empowerment (WE) Journalism Awards 2015 to inspire, nurture and advance quality reporting on women’s empowerment issues to educate and empower communities across the world. The Awards celebrate reporting on women’s issues across different media platforms and are open to outstanding journalists in Australia, Cambodia, China (including Hong Kong), India, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Lebanon, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. Finalists for each of the six categories (Journalist of the Year, Print Story of the Year, Broadcast Story of the Year, Online Story of the Year, Photo Story of the Year and Media Title of the Year) will be flown into Hong Kong to attend the awards ceremony on March 5, 2015, where the winners will be announced.
Luminaries in their field, Monique Villa, CEO of Thomson Reuters Foundation; Yan Mei, Senior Partner of Brunswick Group; and award-winning journalist Shaili Chopra will lend their wealth of expertise in journalism and women’s empowerment in judging finalists’ entries. I’m glad to see that Myanmar country is eligible for the awards. So I strongly suggest to Myanmar women who are working in the field of journalism and media. If you are a journalist, a blogger or a writer, please submit the best of you. The world will know more about Myanmar woman because of your effort.
